The 1st Latin America Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference & the 2nd Brazil International Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine – Online Venue

From March 21 to 23, 2024, the 1st Latin America Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference & the 2nd Brazil International Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. The conference was organized by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and co-hosted by the China-Brazil International Cooperation Base for Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Brazilian Academic Alliance for Integrative Health (CABSIN). It attracted scholars and clinicians engaged in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) research from Brazil, China, Spain, the United Kingdom, Cuba, Australia, and other countries. Through keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, on-site lectures, and expert consultations, the conference explored the application and development of TCM in healthcare. The discussions covered various aspects, including pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and traditional Chinese bone setting.

During the keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, the team from Institute of Basic Research in Clinical Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, participated online, focusing on promoting the standardization and high-quality development of TCM. They delivered in-depth reports on “Clinical Trial Evidence Supporting the High-Quality Development of Traditional Medicine – An Introduction to ITMCTR”, “Evaluating the Implementability of Clinical Practice Guidelines for TCM in Pediatrics,” and “The Development of Standardization in TCM,” providing valuable insights into the role of clinical trial evidence in advancing TCM and the importance of standardization for its sustainable development.
